High Performers Are Mindset Maniacs

The mindset with which you begin an activity, project, or meeting sets the tone and energy for its duration.

It can either accelerate your success or slow it down. Having an aligned mind creates a powerful positive energy. It eliminates mental blocks to success, so you can focus on accomplishing your goal.

Rebecca Lolosoli, the leader of the Umoja Uaso Women’s Group, was always fully aware of the potential for failure when she first began speaking out against the atrocities she witnessed in her culture. In fact, she could have very well lost her life for standing up for what she believed in. But because she had an aligned mind she was able to overcome her fear and the uncertainty of her situation. Lolosoli was able to accept the possibility of defeat and then move despite this possibility toward her ultimate goal of creating a safe environment for women.

The empowerment of women in the face of terrible threat is not a cause limited to adults. Malala Yousafzai, a 14-year old Pakistani schoolgirl shot by Taliban militants, began her career as an activist at the age of 11, speaking out against the Taliban’s unyielding stance against the education of Pakistani girls and the freedom of women.

Even as over 100 schools were bombed into rubble, Yousafzai maintained that her education – and that of all young girls – was a right. Yousafzai has said, “I don’t mind if I have to sit on the floor at school. All I want is education. And I am afraid of no one.” At 14 years of age, she was the youngest person to be nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize, because of her views and because she was “afraid of no one.”

In the next blog, I will show you how to develop routines so that you gain more control over your thoughts, emotions, and inactions as you engage in the events most important to you. In this way, you can become a mindset maniac and create a Fearless Leader’s mindset when you choose,

Until then, take some time to think about what you’ve learned and let me know. Thanks for sharing some of your thoughts with me.
